Statement at the 64th General Debate UNCTAD Trade and Development Board
September 14, 2017
Achieving inclusive growth and development requires policies aimed at reducing inequality in income and assets; fostering social dialogue, particularly among workers and employers; promoting social justice and reducing vulnerabilities. Accordingly, it is also worth recognizing that economic activities function not only through the self-regulation of markets, but they should also be at the service of persons. Any development and growth strategy should aim at the promotion of the human person and the primacy of his/her work.
